The village of Baszków is situated west of Krotoszyn and dates back to 1457. The Duchess Maria Leszczyñska, who later became the wife of Louis XV of France, was born in Baszków. The house is surrounded by picturesque woods and rivers. 'Dom Lowiecki' translates into English as "Hunter's House".
